PLAN DE SANCHEZ
Dir.:  Colectivo Rabinal Achi  / GUATEMALA / 2005 / 40’
The Plan de Sánchez massacre took place in the Guatemalan village of Plan de Sánchez, Baja Verapaz department, on 18 July 1982. Over 250 people (mostly women and children, and almost exclusively ethnic Achi Maya) were abused and murdered by members of the armed forces and their paramilitary allies. This Video collects the experiences of the people who survived this horrible crime.

DIAS DE CARTON ("Cardboard Days")
Dir.: Verónica Souto  / ARGENTINA  / 2003 / 52’
The politics of poverty in Buenos Aires is explored through the community who haunt the city's streets at night to scavenge for cardboard. This army of shadows - more than 100,000 strong - are herded onto a battered, hollowed out train painted white that rattles through rich suburbs to take them to their foraging stations. However, amidst the piles of trash and detritus the cartoneros have organized themselves into a community that defines solidarity, commands dignity and asserts pride against overwhelming odds
