LOCREO (freely translated "I believe in me") offers children education, art and culture in the “barrios” (the poor suburbs of Granada) and in the development project Malacatoya. Each year approx. 500 - 600 children and young people benefit from the program. From 2003 to February 2008 the Finnish government financed the project. Fortunately a "successor" could be found: The German Axel Springer publishing house bears for one year the costs. Additionally LOCREO is supported by Pan y Arte.

Teachers of the project work in the outlying districts, in order to prevent pupils from long (and cost-intensive) ways to the Casa de los Tres Mundos and to teach them in their familiar surroundings, so they can be supported in the best possible way. The classes take place in community centers several times a week.

Children and young people have the unique possibility of discovering and of realizing their own creativity and of making their first experiences of success. They feel: "I can do something", "I have a talent", "I get acknowledgment", "I believe in me". These experiences provide the foundation for a strengthened self-esteem.

Seeing the children and young people performing on the stage full of aliveness, enthusiasm and joy and recognising the individual talents of them, confirms the success of this project. Even the smallest ones among the participants acted with overwhelming self-confident and this raises hope that they can use this self-confident in their hard everyday life too.
